Ankh Antiquarian Books is the place to go in Australia for books on Ancient Egypt and Ancient History.Since the early 1990’s Ankh Antiquarian Books has been proud to represent the London Egypt Exploration Society. Ankh Antiquarian Books also has strong links with The British Museum, the Australian Institute of Archaeology, The Australian Centre for Egyptology (Rundle Foundation for Egyptian Archaeology) and The Egyptology Society of Victoria. Ankh is an Ancient Egyptian word meaning life, or eternal life, represented as a tall cross with a loop on top. In early Christian history the symbol of the Ankh was known as the Ansata Cross. Ankh Antiquarian Books is a New and Second-hand book shop started and still run by Jennifer Jaeger in 1989. (Jennifer has a BA from Swinburne University with majors in Literature, Media & Philosophy.) Originally Ankh Antiquarian Books was a book exchange in Oakleigh with only one shelf of Ancient Egypt books. It moved to its current address in 1991. The book exchange was sold and my interest in Ancient Egypt and other ancient civilisations was given free rein. Now the book shop has excellent facilities and a stock of almost 5000 books, plus the ability to source books in Australia and overseas. Visits are by Appointment. Ankh Antiquarian Books has an extensive web presence.Ankh Antiquarian Books stocks KMT magazine (USA) and other books and products produced by KMT Communications, Minerva magazine (UK) & Egyptian Archaeology (UK), the magazine produced by the Egypt Exploration Society. In particular I support books published by Thames & Hudson, the British Museum Press, Routledge, Duckworth, Penguin, the Oxford & Cambridge University Presses & Macmillan. Ankh Antiquarian Books offers a book consignment service to selected customers and also a book search service for any books in any area. Personalized service is guaranteed. Ankh Antiquarian Books produces two large catalogues per year which are distributed FREE to those on the mailing list; they are also reproduced on the Web page. There is a “birthday” catalogue around May-August. & a Christmas catalogue around early November. Ankh Antiquarian Books also publishes 3 newsletters per year known as
